Touching Hearts and Inspiring Minds Since 1970
At Moregrove Primary, we believe in “Touching Hearts and Inspiring Minds.”
We are dedicated to nurturing every learner’s potential in a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment.
With a strong academic foundation and a wide variety of extracurricular opportunities, we prepare our learners to grow into responsible, confident citizens.
Our Story,Our Past
In January 1970, a school was built to serve the new Cotswold Extension community. By 1971, parents chose the name Moregrove, named after the farm on which the school stands.
The school opened with 6 educators and 103 learners, and initially relied on Cotswold Primary School’s sports fields.
Over time, Moregrove acquired its own sports facilities. In 1972, the white dove in flight was chosen as the school badge, symbolizing peace and God’s blessing, reflecting the bird-themed streets of the area.Pre-primary classes began in 1974, and by 1976, enrolment exceeded 300 learners
- 1988: Coat of arms and motto accepted by the Bureau of Heraldry; school song introduced.
- 1992: Amalgamation with Cotswold Primary School, expanding our community and facilities.
Today at Moregrove
Today, Moregrove caters to 775 learners from diverse cultural backgrounds, from Grade R to Grade 7.
We may no longer be a small suburb school, but we retain the warm, family oriented atmosphere that defines Moregrove Primary.
